Our unit offers observation internships for 3rd year students as part of a discovery tour of Archeology:
A discovery tour of archeology for college students
An innovative initiative, an exemplary partnership, a unique experience
Information for the 2018-2019 school year: all our sessions are organized and unfortunately we can no longer accept additional applications.
Faced with the growing number of internship requests from more and more college students interested in archeology professions, an original offer of shared hosting has emerged. Thus, the Ausonius research laboratories, PACEA, IRAMAT-CRP2A, the 3D / Archéovision technological platform, the Inrap Grand Sud-Ouest, the Regional Department of Archeology of the DRAC Aquitaine, Cap’Archéo (Center program of Science, Technical and Industrial Culture Cap Sciences), and the Museum of Aquitaine, offer students a real journey of discovery of the different specialties of archeology. For a week, teenagers get acquainted with research (archeometry, anthropology, prehistory, ancient and medieval history ..), preventive archeology, conservation of the regional archaeological heritage, mediation and the valorization of research, collection management.
This partnership, exemplary in terms of collaboration between CNRS / University research laboratories, a deconcentrated department of the Ministry of Culture, a public research establishment, a regional science center, and a municipal museum, now allows them to wear a new look at the professions of archeology in their diversity and their scientific complementarity.
